Biography
Foxrun is the solo project of Loyola University New Orleans graduate and Producer/Songwriter David Garcia Marino, which he formed after his last band, Bishops, went on indefinite hiatus. Focusing on creating a danceable and catchy blend of pop synth production and grooving bass lines, Foxrun aims to fill the dance music void he believes exists in the New Orleans DIY indie music scene. Inspired by the sounds of artists like The 1975, Chvrches, Two Door Cinema Club, and Bleachers, Foxrun started refining his blend of synth-pop as soon as he got to Loyola University. Working with artists such as Sleepyhead, Paul Meany, Pierce the Veil, and Bishops co-writer Emilio Sanchez-Harris allowed Foxrun to experiment and develop his sound into one that best exemplified the music that underscored the movie happening in his head. Staying true to his do-it-yourself ethos, he shoots, edits, and directs as much of his own content and music videos as possible. “I was told by a mentor once that, more than anything, it takes resourcefulness to make your mark in the music industry,” he says. “So, it's because of that that I am going to try to make sure I make the biggest impact I possibly can with the things I currently have my hands on.”
